Individual, solo retreats
When Tushita Mystery School is not running public retreats, Tushita Ashram Hermitage is available for individual quiet contemplative silent retreats, or for your writing projects when quiet and solitude is needed.
Set amongst sub-tropical vegetation, in Peria, Northland, Tushita Ashram Hermitage is a unique and beautiful sanctuary with plenty of space for contemplation and relaxation.
We can have a maximum of 3 people at any one time and each person will be accommodated in their own cabin.
You can self-cater your own vegetarian only meals in the kitchen or take the opportunity to fast.
Minimum stay is 2 nights.
Accommodation and Facilities
You will have your own cosy, warm, simple cabin.
There is a general ablution block with modern showers and toilets.
There is a fully equipped kitchen available for your use (vegetarian food only).
All bedding is supplied, including sheets/pillowslips, duvet, extra blankets, pillow, towel.
In Guardian House(the main house), is the kitchen, dining area, an informal seating area with a wood-burning fire, and a small library.

Location
The Tushita Hermitage is located at 1334 Oruru Road, Peria Valley in Northland
Please use the following directions rather than GPS or google maps.
From state highway 1, take right at Pakaraka to highway 10 towards Kerikeri. Stay on this highway, going past Kaeo, Mangonui, and at Taipa, turn left onto Oruru Road, immediately after crossing the Taipa Bridge.
(1334 Oruru Road is on the right hand side, just over a kilometre from the Bush Fairy Dairy).
Off street car-parking is provided.
